A trauma-informed, depth-oriented & relational approach for anyone who has ever felt “too different,” “too much,” or “not enough.”
FAQ
-
I work with individuals ages 16 and up. Many of my clients are healers, helping professionals, fellow therapists, overwhelmed parents, Highly Sensitive People, people-pleasers, women with ADHD, queer and trans folks, and others whose identities have been harmed or marginalized by dominant culture.
If you’re navigating chronic shame, identity exploration, relationship distress, struggling with boundaries, or feeling the weight of care work, you may find this to be a supportive space.

I currently offer virtual sessions to clients located in Illinois. While I don’t offer in-person sessions at this time, I plan to expand to in-person care in Chicago in 2027.
-
My work is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodynamic therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Jungian Psychology. Depending on your needs, I may also incorporate elements of somatic therapy and trauma-informed mindfulness.
At its core, my approach is relational, parts-based, and focused on helping you disrupt patterns that no longer serve you.
-
I meet with most clients on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis. During our initial intake call, we will discuss the most appropriate session frequency based on your needs. This will be a collaborative decision.

No. I’m not a medical doctor, so I don’t prescribe medication. Some of my clients find that medication is a helpful part of their healing, while others do well with therapy alone. If you’re interested in exploring medication, I can help you connect with a psychiatrist or you can talk to your primary care provider. If you're already taking medication, I'm happy to touch base with your prescriber (though this is not required).

Meet Emily
Hi! I’m Emily (she/her), a queer & neurodivergent Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Reflective Supervisor based in Chicago. I started this practice because I believe that therapy should be a space where you are not just analyzed and pathologized, but welcomed for all that you are. My hope is to create an environment of trust and safety for you to share parts of yourself that have been silenced or unseen for too long, or that you feel scared or ashamed of.
My Approach
My approach is rooted in relational healing, parts work (IFS), inner child healing/reparenting, and gentle mind-body connection. Therapy with me is trauma-informed, emotionally-focused, and strengths-based. We’ll explore your childhood experiences, early relationships, beliefs about emotions, and get to know your parts and the stories they carry. We will compassionately look at difficult behavior patterns and work together to soften these automatic, protective responses. At times, this work will be deep and challenging. However, it will likely also include joy, laughter, and celebration. Being human is messy and complicated! Together, we’ll welcome it all.
Professional Background
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Erikson Institute, where I focused on trauma-informed care, child development, and attachment. Prior to starting my own practice, I supported children, teens, adults, and families in a variety of care settings, including schools, outpatient therapy, and Partial Hospitalization / Intensive Outpatient programs. Each space deepened my understanding of how trauma lives in the body, how it shows up in relationships, and how healing often begins in the presence of steady, compassionate connection.
Alongside my clinical work, I have also provided reflective supervision for provisionally licensed therapists. This is something I continue to offer with deep respect for the complexity of holding space for others while tending to your own inner world.
My commitment to the therapy space:
I am dedicated to providing anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and liberation-centered care. I believe true healing is only possible when we name and challenge the systems that cause harm, both internally and externally. This means honoring not only your unique inner world, but also exploring the systems, identities, and generational legacies that have shaped it. I will never assume to know more about you, or your experience, than you do. Only you have lived your life, in your body. My goal is to help you rediscover your ability to trust yourself, and feel safe enough to listen to your own voice. I welcome honest feedback during sessions and am committed to my own continued (un)learning, healing, and growth.
If this sounds like the kind of care you’re looking for, I’d love to hear from you.
