Meet Emily
Hi! I’m Emily (she/her), a queer & neurodivergent Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Reflective Supervisor based in Chicago. I started this practice because I believe that therapy should be a space where you are not just analyzed and pathologized, but welcomed for all that you are. My hope is to create an environment of trust and safety for you to share parts of yourself that have been silenced or unseen for too long, or that you feel scared or ashamed of.
My Approach
My approach is rooted in relational healing, parts work (IFS), inner child healing/reparenting, and gentle mind-body connection. Therapy with me is trauma-informed, emotionally-focused, and strengths-based. We’ll explore your childhood experiences, early relationships, beliefs about emotions, and get to know your parts and the stories they carry. We will compassionately look at difficult behavior patterns and work together to soften these automatic, protective responses. At times, this work will be deep and challenging. However, it will likely also include joy, laughter, and celebration. Being human is messy and complicated! Together, we’ll welcome it all.
Professional Background
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Erikson Institute, where I focused on trauma-informed care, child development, and attachment. Prior to starting my own practice, I supported children, teens, adults, and families in a variety of care settings, including schools, outpatient therapy, and Partial Hospitalization / Intensive Outpatient programs. Each space deepened my understanding of how trauma lives in the body, how it shows up in relationships, and how healing often begins in the presence of steady, compassionate connection.
Alongside my clinical work, I have also provided reflective supervision for provisionally licensed therapists. This is something I continue to offer with deep respect for the complexity of holding space for others while tending to your own inner world.
My commitment to the therapy space:
I am dedicated to providing anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and liberation-centered care. I believe true healing is only possible when we name and challenge the systems that cause harm, both internally and externally. This means honoring not only your unique inner world, but also exploring the systems, identities, and generational legacies that have shaped it. I will never assume to know more about you, or your experience, than you do. Only you have lived your life, in your body. My goal is to help you rediscover your ability to trust yourself, and feel safe enough to listen to your own voice. I welcome honest feedback during sessions and am committed to my own continued (un)learning, healing, and growth.
If this sounds like the kind of care you’re looking for, I’d love to hear from you.
